Our Values
- Local Focus We begin at the local level of people and place. Using Placemaking principles and a hands-on approach, we inspire people to reimagine the public spaces they encounter, and to take steps to reinvent the places and systems they share. We acknowledge that all places in Greater Victoria are unceded First Nations territories.
- Passion We treat each other with respect and trust, recognizing and valuing our greatest assets — our volunteers, collaborators and partners. We proactively reach out to and welcome people with different backgrounds and experiences. We value collaboration and will leverage the efforts of others who share the same spirit and hope for community well-being.
- Innovation We believe in learning from others, and value improvising and exploring options that lead to short and longer-term change. We place equal importance on the act of engagement and process of Placemaking as we do on the outcomes we achieve.
- Sustainability We work collectively, collaboratively and democratically to promote a sustainable urban future. We are transparent and forward looking, and design our organization and activities to be nimble whenever possible. We have fun in taking action and bringing about positive experiences for all.
