We’re teaming up with the Oaklands Community Association to celebrate 1,000 Little Free Libraries (LFLs) across Greater Victoria — and we need your help to make it unforgettable!
The Little Free Library Festival will be a fun, free, family-friendly afternoon. Saturday, Sept 20, 2025 | 4:30-8:30 PM featuring:
- LFL Build Contest – Vote for your favourite new library builds of 2025
- LFL Auction – With proceeds going to the Victoria Literacy Society
- DIY Zone for Kids – Bookmarks, crafts & a cozy reading circle
- Placemaking Info Booths – Learn how to get involved with your own LFL
- Live music & food trucks – Curated by Oaklands Community Association
Volunteer Roles – Come Join the Fun!
We need about 10 volunteers – roles are shared in pairs — fun and low-pressure
- Event Manager
- Safety Officer
- LFL Contest & Auction Lead
- Placemaking Info Table Host
- Bookmark & Reading Circle Supervisor
- Kids’ DIY Library Zone Lead
- LFL Tips & Building Table Host
- Waste & Recycling Coordinator
