There’s a great new book out about placemaking and we want to share it with you.
Home Sweet Neighborhood is a colorful book suitable for readers from middle school to adult, by Victoria author Michelle Mulder. Michelle has plenty of hands-on experience with placemaking right here in Victoria. On her block, she has led initiatives to create a boulevard garden, a little free library, a street mural and more. The book is published by Victoria’s Orca Books.
“Home Sweet Neighborhood is one of the best books I have seen about placemaking and how we can transform cities into happier, healthier places,” says GVPN founder Lorne Daniel. “The book is a visual treat and it covers everything from boulevard gardens to free book boxes to street events. It’s a book that will entice young people and I can envision it inspiring adolescents, teens and adults to create lively places wherever they live.”
