Calling all book lovers, bargain hunters, and Little Free Library heroes — it’s time to make space on your shelves and flex those tote bags!
The Times Colonist Book Sale is happening this weekend – May 3 & 4 – and it’s one of the biggest (and best-loved) book events in Victoria. With thousands of gently-used books at super prices, it’s the perfect chance to stock up for summer reading and refill your neighbourhood’s Little Free Library.
TC Book Sale Days: Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4
Victoria Curling Club (1952 Quadra Street)
Proceeds support literacy projects across Vancouver Island through the Times Colonist Literacy Society. Good books for a great cause? Yes please!
Non-Profit Day & Little Free Librarians Welcome: May 5
There’s a special day just for non-profits, community groups, and Little Free Librarians on Monday, May 5. So if you’re a steward, volunteer, or just love giving books a second (or third) life – come by and load up! AND if you are planning on coming to the Aprés Sale non-profit day, we ask that you please let us know with an email to treasurer@victoriaplacemaking.ca
At the Greater Victoria Placemaking Network, this book sale is our jam. It keeps our Little Free Libraries stocked all year long and helps us spread joy, literacy, and a whole lot of neighbourly love. Check out last year’s post on how you can help keep your local and well-loved little libraries filled throughout the seasons.
Never been before? Don’t worry – here’s a first-timer’s peek into what the TC After Sale is all about!
See you at the sale — and don’t forget your reusable bags, boxes, and maybe a wagon!
