The City of Victoria is updating the Official Community Plan (OCP) to meet the needs of a growing population and address the housing and climate crises. The City wants to hear your thoughts on the proposed OCP update to help shape how Victoria will grow into the future.
Of special interest to the GVPN is Place-based Planning. Four Places & Spaces Ideas Workshops are open to anyone who lives, works, plays, or has a keen interest in the future of these areas, which have been identified for place-based planning as a part of the Official Community Plan update. Read on for ways you can get involved.
Places & Spaces – Place-based Planning
As part of the OCP update, the City will consider key directions from current neighbourhood plans to ensure each area of Victoria can grow and maintain its special charm while still aligning with the OCP framework. James Bay, Oaklands and areas in Jubilee, Fort Street and Oak Bay Avenue are without recent neighbourhood plans. Learn how you can help shape how each of these areas will grow and change into the future at engage.victoria.ca/places-spaces.
