This event is the inaugural City Talks panel discussion, the first of many more in-depth conversations about our beautiful city of Victoria, its present and its future.
For our first session, moderated by Eric Bramble, we’ll be exploring the topic of our beloved downtown core with panelists Michael Demakiling (Zero Waste Emporium Inc), Christine Lintott (Christine Lintott Architects Inc) and Wendy Welch (Vancouver Island School of Art). There are various opinions on its state and trajectory, some aspirational, and others bleak. With panelists from different backgrounds, and different relationships to the downtown core, we hope to explore a range of perspectives and put them in conversation with one another. Our audience will also have the opportunity to ask questions, and shape the exchanges, to ensure an enriching experience.
Whether you fear the future, find beauty in it, or feel ambiguously uncertain, this event is for you. theDock – Centre for Social Impact, the Greater Victoria Placemaking Network, and Sidewalking Victoria welcome you for this invigorating discourse.
