Hello Everyone, new placemaking volunteers Sarah G & John L here. We are helping Teale Phelps Bondaroff with the ‘Pocket Places’ / Little Free Libraries project — delivering books to the LFLs. Since COVID made volunteering at Our Place Society impossible, we still wanted to help the community. We have bikes and backpacks and have made close to 100 stops at the LFLs near us in Oaklands, Oak Bay, Fernwood and Fairfield.
We quickly discovered there is no way we will be able to visit all 300+ LFLs in Greater Victoria! It has been so much fun, planning delivery routes and discovering each library. Victorians are creative geniuses!
Just in case you see two grey-haired bike riders hovering around your Library, it’s only us. We are so glad we can help get books to our neighbours. Happily we have met some of the librarians/creators on our rides. If you see us, say “hey”!”
