Citizens, Friends, Placemakers – – It’s that time of the year.
The Greater Victoria Placemaking Network (GVPN) is hosting its 2019 Annual General Meeting. This year, we’ll be gathering at a lovely new community space – The Hub– at 829 Fort St. (Between Blanshard and Quadra). On Tuesday, June 11. Doors open at 5:30. Meeting from 6pm to 7pm. Social from 7pm to 8:30
We’ll be sharing some of our activities from 2018/19 – and plans for the year ahead.
But mostly, we’d like to invite GVPN members, friends and anyone interested in the potential of placemaking, public space and smart urbanism to join us for a social evening with refreshments, some eats. And, yes, some door prizes and surprises.
And, of course, a little learning and sharing: This year we have invited some special guests to provide brief 5-6min. presentations on their placemaking projects, passions and proposals. Please come out and hear from:
Barrett Blackwood & Mia Lauzon – The HUB Community Space
Michelle Mulder – Author, Home Sweet Neighbourhood
Stacey Barter – Resilient Neighbourhoods, Shift Collaborative
Emi Webb – Neighbour Lab (Leonard St. Emergency Bench)
Thomas Guerrero – Sidewalking Victoria
Bill Eisenhauer — City of Victoria
Susan Stokhof – Bicycle Mayor of Victoria
Eric Doherty – EcoPath Planning
You will also hear from GVPN Directors on some of GVPN’s current and upcoming initiatives, including the Humboldt Square design plan/placemaking grant, Table Talk mobile trailer, Little Free Libraries… And more!
Please join us on Tuesday, June 11 – 5:30pm. Meeting 6-7pm. Followed by social & eats.
