The Greater Victoria Placemaking Network is pleased to host two little free library walking tours of Fernwood!
Please meet us at the little free library on Mason St. (1155 Mason St.) at 6 pm on either Wednesday the 8th or Saturday the 11th of August.
The approximately one-hour tour will wend its way through Fernwood, visiting a number of little free libraries along the way. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with people who have installed and curate these LFLs, ask questions about their experiences, learn about LFL design and maintenance, and get inspired by placemaking. The tour will end at the Fernwood Inn, where participants will be able to continue exploring placemaking over a well-earned pint (drinks not included).
The tour host, Dr. Teale Phelps Bondaroff, is the lead for our Pocket Places Project and little free library enthusiast. He and his partner Stephanie, have mapped out over 179 LFLs in the CRD, and curate the LFL in Rutledge Park.
The tour is free! Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, and to bring a book or two to drop off at the LFLs along the way. If you get lost, you can always reach Teale at 778-678-8325.
